One Week and Counting

Wow, can you believe that in only a week I'll be jetting over the Atlantic Ocean?? I'm still stunned that it's actually going to happen. Well, maybe it will sink in when we're at the airport. Or on the plane. Or not till we land at Charles de Gaulle airport!

Regardless, this trip is happening! So just a few last-minute preparations to finish. Decide on a wardrobe...pare down the wardrobe...cut that in half. :) Still a little shopping left to do. Really need to do a trial run of packing. Hmmm...how to pack for a month in one 14x20 bag and a backpack.

I had a doctor appointment today (first of 2) so I can be sure to have all my prescriptions in order. And yes, you all know that's quite a few!! After next Thursday, my prescription collection will be complete. Bwahahaha!! Hmmm...I suppose they're going to take up a fair amount of space in my luggage.

So in these last few days there's lots left to do! Finish all my readings for the courses. Finish projects at work and make sure Jen feels comfortable with her duties while I'm gone. Gotta make sure I have addresses so I can send out postcards! GOTTA send postcards! And, of course, spend as much time possible with James. And the kitties.

This is going to be amazing!! A bit scary...but amazing!!

The kitties plan their strategy

Apparently Norrin and Willow are ready to accompany me to Paris. They seem to have plans to take over the city. I was able to get these pictures of their secret planning session...

Okay...so maybe they're just curious about the circa 1968 street map of Paris of my grandmother's my mom found. But the cats planning to take over Paris is far more interesting!

Three Weeks & Counting

The countdown has begun. Three weeks from right now I will be flying through the air en route to France! Oh my!! Still so much to do - working on paring down my packing list so everything will fit into one 14x20 suitcase and a backpack. That's including the books and reading materials needed for classes. Yikes! Eh, I'll just have to buy t-shirts and such there! What a great souvenir. Maybe I'll find some great deals and interesting pieces. I hear that Paris is having one of its semi-annual sales during most of the time we'll be there. Hmmm....going to have to do some research so I can find the non-touristy stores.

Killamarsh Beware

Woohoo - it's official. I've booked my flights to visit Carol, Andrew and the cats in England during the third weekend of July!! We're hoping for good weather so that Carol can drive her snazzy convertible sports car to the airport when I get in on Friday. Oh what fun that will be!

The whole weekend will be packed full of visiting and activities. Carol's daughter will be in from California the same weekend. I can't wait to meet and visit with her as well.

Then there's the whole kitty factor. By that time, there will be three litters of kittens of varying ages - Sheba's, Snowy's and Berry's! Oh my goodness! Just toss me in a room with all the kitties and I'll be just fine!! After three weeks away from our own kitties, I'm sure I'll be having serious purr withdrawals!!

Many thanks to Carol and Andrew for hosting me for the weekend!!
